Do you know Gamification and Games aren't the same things?

Let me explain; A Game is a system that allows players to engage in an abstract challenge, defined by rules, interactivity, and feedback resulting in a quantifiable outcome or objective, often eliciting an emotional reaction. In contrast, Gamification takes parts of games or game elements and applies them to learning activities to engage the learners. In hindsight, Gamification applies to real-life activities in a game-like manner. For example; Students can get extra candy in class for answering a question correctly. The reward the student receives is called points in gamification, and what this does to other students is foster engagement.

Points, Badges, and Challenges are types of gamification, and you can find these in games. Gamification isn't about playing to win but about engagement. The points, badges, and challenges help drive engagement, and what the engagement does to the student/user/learner is help build up mastery.

Games and Gamification aren't the same, but they overlap because you can't have gamification without games.
