Don’t choose or think for people

African parents have been one of the factors behind a child doing what they don't want to do.

Take, for instance, a kid can draw different types of aircraft's in his book because he's fascinated by how it looks.

His parents can look at the drawing and say "Aww he loves airplanes. I think he's going to be a pilot"

But in the little boy's mind, he's just drawing because he loves art.

His parents then enrolled him in aviation school without knowing what actually led him to draw those airplanes. Typical African child, you’ve been trained to never question authorities and you’re compelled to do what you don’t want. After 5 years you’ve got the certificate and you’re not flying but doing art and society is wondering what is happening, why aren’t you doing what you studied. But they never asked you what exactly you wanted to do.

That’s why we have plenty of graduates not doing what they studied because they wanted to please their parents.

A handful of them will blame the government and say there is no work but deep down they love what they’re doing.

Ask your kids what exactly it is they like and want to do.

Don't choose or think for people.
